Maria C. Jacobs M.D.
Director of Radiation Oncology at Mercy
Maria C. Jacobs, M.D., oversees all radiotherapy services at Mercy Medical Center. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, Dr. Jacobs earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. She trained at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque before joining the University of Maryland in Baltimore as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology.
While at the University of Maryland, she contributed to the development of the Breast Evaluation Program and was an investigator in the areas of combined-modality treatment for breast, gynecologic, and head and neck tumors. Dr. Jacobs was also the residency program director for three years and was active in teaching and mentoring students pursuing careers in radiation oncology.
Prior to joining Mercy, Dr. Jacobs was a faculty member of Johns Hopkins Radiation Oncology at Green Spring.
She is a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO) as well as the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
